High voter turnout marks gram panchayat polls in erstwhile Medak
The first phase of gram panchayat elections in the erstwhile Medak district saw high voter turnout. Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak recorded over 87 per cent polling, with several sarpanches elected unanimously, and results for ward members and sarpanches began arriving by evening

Sangareddy: A heavy voter turnout marked the first phase of gram panchayat elections across the erstwhile Medak district on Thursday. Sangareddy district recorded 87.96 per cent polling in 129 gram panchayats out of 136, while seven panchayats elected sarpanches unanimously.
Siddipet district registered 88.05 per cent voting for 163 gram panchayats, with 16 panchayats electing sarpanches unanimously. Medak district reported 88.46 per cent polling, where elections were held for 144 gram panchayats and 16 were decided unanimously.
Results for ward members and sarpanch posts started trickling in by evening.
