Highway-side hotel staff must act swiftly to safe lives of road accident victims: Medak SP
Medak SP D V Srinivas Rao urged highway-side hotel owners to help road accident victims by ensuring timely medical assistance during the golden hour. He also announced first aid and CPR training for hotel staff and stressed improved safety measures
SP DV Srinivas Rao is addressing owners of highway side hotels in Medak on Friday.
Medak: Medak SP DV Srinivas Rao, who held a meeting with highway side hotel owners, called upon them to play a vital role in saving road accident victims’ lives by shifting them to nearby hospitals without any delay. Addressing the owners of the hotels in Medak on Friday, the SP said that the hotel owners and staff will be trained on providing first aid and CPR shortly.
He further said that they must call 100, 108 and 112 to inform them about the road accidents. Since providing treatment in first hour, called as golden hour by doctors, after the accident is crucial, the SP asked them to act swiftly to shift the victims to nearby hospitals. Since the district had 255 KMs of national highways, Rao suggested the hotel owners keep enough parking area around the hotels so that the goods vehicle drivers can take rest for long hours.
He recalled that the Centre was providing Rs 25,000 under Rah-veer to encourage the people to help the road accident victims shift the hospitals. Asking them to place atleast four CCTV cameras to cover all the directions from the hotel, he said that the management must appoint a worker to ensure the parking place is maintained systematically. He further asked them to ensure the safety of the women coming to their hotels besides prohibiting the use of liquor and drugs.
