Hyderabad: Telangana police system has emerged as the best in the country and police personnel from other States come here to study the policing methods followed here, said Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali.

At the inauguration of two new buildings of the Nampally law and order and traffic wing police stations here on Thursday, he said, “in the past, people were a bit reluctant to visit police stations, but now it is a changed scenario.”

The department has adopted a friendly police system and the personnel were striving hard to maintain peace and security. “Nearly 6 lakh surveillance cameras have been installed across three police commissionerates until now,” he said.

Director General of Police, M Mahender Reddy said the government had already sanctioned 19 new law and order and six traffic police stations across the State and the Command Control Centre at Banjara Hills would also be completed soon.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said about 50 various types of services were being provided to citizens by the police department. “Four persons have been given special training within each police station. They are working as receptionists and providing all the assistance to the victims who come to the police station,” he said.

T.Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Jaffer Hussain Meraj, MLA Nampally, Shikha Goel Addl CP (Crime and SIT) and others were present.
