HMDA to distribute 1.33 lakh eco-friendly Ganesh idols
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority will distribute 1.33 lakh eco-friendly Ganesh idols free of cost at 34 locations across the city between September 9 and 13. The initiative aims to discourage the use of Plaster of Paris idols and promote environmental awareness during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has made arrangements to distribute 1.33 lakh free eco-friendly Ganesh idols at 34 locations across Hyderabad from September 9 to 13.
The distribution will include 80,000 eight-inch idols and 53,000 one-foot idols for the public and NGOs, according to a press release. The initiative seeks to reduce the use of Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols, raise awareness against plastic, and protect the environment.
