Hyderabad: Putting up a fine display, HMT rallied to score a 52-47 win over Hyderabad Rovers to secure a direct qualification to Level 2 of the Annual League Basketball Championship conducted by the Hyderabad District Basketball Association. HMT trailed 18-24 at half-time.
Rovers had a rollicking start Mahesh and Nitin combined well to take the Rovers team to a 17-5 lead at the end of first quarter. Thereafter, HMT dominated the attack with Sam and Anurag finding the hoop, the former especially sinking in three pointers as they scored 13 against 7 in the 2nd quarter following it up with a solid display in the third quarter notching up 22 against 4 by the losers.
Trinity Basketball Club stayed in contention of a qualification spot as they defeated Sunday Ballers 56-48, having led 30-14 at the breather.
