Hyderabad: HMWSSB vigilance officials have filed criminal cases against nine individuals who had illegally obtained water connections from the supply pipeline.

In Red Hills, during the recent GHMC CC road construction in the Sitaram Bagh area, nine residents took advantage of the situation. Although each household already had an official connection, they independently acquired a total of 15 illegal connections without official approval, according to an official release.

The water board removed the illegal connections and filed criminal cases against the nine individuals involved and warned that criminal cases will be filed against anyone obtaining illegal water or sewer connections without official permission. People were requested to report any illegal water or sewer connections to the water board’s vigilance team at 9989998100 or 9989987135.
