Hyderabad: HMWSSB imposed a penalty of Rs. 5,000 fine on a Jubilee Hills residence after confirming that drinking water was being used to clean the premises.
Officials acted on a public complaint received through WhatsApp and inspected the premises and levied the penalty after verification, a press release said. The water board said drinking water should be used sparingly for consumption and essential household needs. Using potable water to clean house compounds or roads would invite action under the rules.
