HMWSSB seizes 22 illegal motors during raids in Hyderabad
The HMWSSB vigilance wing seized 22 illegal motors during raids across Hyderabad over two days. Officials warned of strict action and penalties against consumers using motors to tap water and urged citizens to report violations.

Hyderabad: The vigilance wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) conducted raids over the past two days and seized 22 motors that were illegally connected to the main water supply lines and used for tapping water.
According to a press release, the officials visited the surrounding areas of Hydernagar during water supply hours and seized nine illegally connected motors. Raids were also conducted at Gayatri Nagar Colony, Jyoti Nagar Colony and Gayatri Nagar Indoor Stadium Colony, and another 13 illegal motors were seized.
The water board warned of severe action against consumers caught during raids using motors on their water lines, and a penalty of Rs 5,000 would be imposed if they were caught a second time. Cases would also be filed.
Consumers can call the customer care number 155313 to file complaints against people using motors to tap water, and the HMWSSB will initiate appropriate action, it said.
