Hyderabad: To supply treated sewage water for non-potable uses, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is gearing up to launch Green Water tanker services on November .
The treated water will be supplied from the STPs for construction, industrial operations, parks, greenery, road cleaning and dust suppression.
HMWSSB Managing Director K Ashok Reddy instructed the officials to complete technical and operational arrangements by November 1.
Area-wise demand from construction projects, industries, commercial complexes, government institutions and gated communities will be assessed and nearby government and private sewage treatment plants will then be developed as Green Water filling stations.
Reddy directed officials to coordinate with the builders, developers and industrial associations to increase the use of treated water as an alternative to drinking water and groundwater.
