HMWSSB vigilance wing seizes 18 illegal water motors in Kukatpally
The vigilance wing of HMWSSB raided Dharmareddy Colony and Balaji Nagar in Kukatpally Zone, seizing 18 illegal motors attached to water pipelines.

Hyderabad: As part of a drive against illegal motors, the vigilance wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) conducted raids at Dharmareddy Colony Phase-1 and Balaji Nagar in Kukatpally Zone, and seized 18 motors used illegally by consumers.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the vigilance officials said they seized 18 motors that were illegally attached to the HMWSSB’s water pipelines and used for tapping water. Action would be taken against consumers found attaching motors to their water lines as per the HMWSSB Act.
The release said that if consumers were found using illegal motors and tapping the HMWSSB’s water for a second time, a penalty of Rs 5,000 would be imposed and cases would be filed.
Consumers facing low water pressure or other water supply issues were advised to contact the nearest HMWSSB official concerned or dial the metro customer care (MCC) number 155313 to lodge a complaint.
