Hoax bomb threat causes panic at Hyderabad Airport
An email warning of a bomb at RGI Airport triggered an early morning security response. CISF and police teams searched the premises and found nothing suspicious. It was declared a hoax. A case was registered, and airport operations remained unaffected
Hyderabad: The security personnel at the RGI Airport went into a tizzy after some unknown persons sent an email informing them about a bomb planted in the airport area.
The information was received at the airport at 6.06 am, and the message was swiftly communicated to the security agencies, who immediately started anti-sabotage checks in and around the airport. Teams from the CISF and local police, after conducting a search declared it to be a hoax.
“As per protocols, a bomb threat assessment committee was formed, and all procedures were followed as per SOP. The threat was a hoax,” said airport authorities.
Based on a complaint, the RGI Airport police registered a case and started an investigation.
The airport authorities added that all operations are running normally.
