Nirmal: The District Hockey Association president Pakala Ramchandar donated Rs 1.5 lakh for renovation and repairs of his alma mater, Zilla Parishad Secondary School in Pembi mandal centre, which was in dilapidated condition, on Saturday.

Ramchandar said that he came forward to donate the funds to benefit financially poor students who study at the school which produced many talented students in the past. He expressed happiness to extend the monetary aid to the institution where he studied. He requested Pembi Sarpanch Purnachandar Goud to monitor the renovation and repair works of the school.

The donor was felicitated by students and villagers for generously donating funds.

Pembi MPDO Limbadri, MPO Rathnakar, headmaster of the school Sudhakar, teachers K Narsaiah, Rahul Kumar, Krishna Prasad, N Naseeruddin and Sarpanch Purnchandar Goud were present.
