Holi tragedy: Mancherial youngster drowns in River Pranahita in Maharashtra
Sources said that Kampella Raj Kumar, 20, a degree-final-year student from Vemanapalli drowned when he along with his friends was taking taking a bath in Pranahita river at Muyaboinapet village.
Mancherial: In a tragic incident, a youngster belonging to Vemanapalli mandal centre drowned in Pranahita river while bathing after celebrating Holi festival at Muyaboinapet village in Sironcha Taluqa in Gadchiroli district on Friday.
Sources said that Kampella Raj Kumar, 20, a degree-final-year student from Vemanapalli drowned when he along with his friends was taking taking a bath in Pranahita river at Muyaboinapet village. He entered the river though he was not familiar with swimming.
Raj Kumar’s friends alerted local police who in turn rushed to the spot. The body was retrieved from the river by expert divers. It was learnt that Raj Kumar crossed the river by a country boat and reached the borders of Maharashtra from Vemanapalli. More details of the incident are yet to be known.
