Hyderabad: A home guard working at Falaknuma police station, along with an air-conditioner technician and an automobile dealer, was arrested by Mailardevpally police for allegedly accepting money and conspiring to kill a person. Four others in the case remain absconding. Police seized two bikes, two mobile phones, and Rs 10,000 in cash from them.
The arrested individuals are identified as Mohammed Saif (21), AC technician; Nenavath Sriram (35), home guard at Falaknuma police station; and Imran Khan, an automobile dealer.
According to the police, Imran had financial disputes with one Yaseen while they were doing automobile business together until a year ago. Following the disputes, some persons had attacked Imran’s house a year ago, and a case was registered against them, leading to their arrest by Mailardevpally police.
Imran allegedly learned that Yaseen was planning to attack him and sought help from Ibrahim, who knew home guard Sriram, Saif, and four others to kill Yaseen. “Imran promised to pay Ibrahim and his associates Rs 9 lakh if they killed Yaseen and paid an advance of Rs 60,000 to them. On Monday evening, when the gang was waiting to attack Yaseen at Vattepally colony, a police team nabbed Saif and Sriram while the others escaped,” said Mailardevpally Inspector P Narender.
The home guard reportedly instructed the remaining gang members to attack Yaseen in the Falaknuma police station area, assuring them that the police would not harm them and that he would arrange bail if they were caught.
Police are making efforts to nab Ibrahim and the others who remain absconding.
