Hyderabad: Kanchanbagh Sub-Inspector N Nagesh has bagged the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation for a case pertaining to torture, sexual abuse and attempt to murder of a minor boy in 2016.
The mother of the nine-year-old victim had kidnapped him with the help of her paramour, who practiced sorcery. The duo confined him in a room and tortured him mentally and physically apart from sexually abusing him. The child was subsequently rescued and the two were arrested. A local court had sentenced them to life imprisonment in July 2020. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar congratulated Nagesh on winning the award.
