Hyderabad: In his Twitter tirade, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao slammed the BJP-led Central government for its discrimination towards Telangana State. He reminded Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the latter’s promises and urged him to support progressive States like Telangana.

In a series of tweets, Rama Rao who is also TRS working president shared news clippings of several promises made by the Prime Minister to the citizens of India earlier with target delivery in 2022. These promises include housing for all; double farmers’ income; water, power and toilet for every household; bullet trains; and double India’s economy to $5 trillion.

“As NDA Govt is set to present #Budget2022, I would like to remind you of some promises that you had made to India with target delivery in 2022. Hope the allocations will be equitable & reflect firm resolve in translating your vision into reality. (sic)” he tweeted to Narendra Modi.

The Minister also urged the Prime Minister to a support progressive State like Telangana (which is 4th largest contributor to Indian economy) by way of honouring the promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and also recommendations by NITI Aayog to support Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya.

In another tweet, Rama Rao responded to a netizen’s complaint about traffic congestion and narrow roads on the Jubilee Bus Station to Alwal and Hakimpet stretch. The netizen suggested that roads should be developed on the stretch under the State government’s Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) to cut down the travel time and trouble for commuters.

“We are ready to build a skyway under SRDP from HMDA but unfortunately Govt of India (Ministry of Defence) doesn’t want to support by way of offering land needed for road widening in Cantonment area. Strange but 6 years of repeated requests are falling on deaf ears of powers in Delhi. (sic)” he said.
