Honouring teachers everyone’s responsibility: ZP chief

ZP Chairperson Rathod Janardhan, MLA Jogu Ramanna and Collector Sikta Patnaik felicitating the best teachers in Adilabad on Sunday.

Adilabad: Zilla Parishad Chairperson Rathod Janardhan said that it was everyone’s responsibility to felicitate their teachers.

He was speaking at a programme held for felicitating 60 teachers, selected as the district’s best teachers, to mark Teachers’ Day, here on Sunday. He was accompanied by local MLA Jogu Ramanna. The teachers were presented with a shawl, a memento and a certificate of appreciation.

Speaking on the occasion, Janardhan opined that teachers play a vital role in molding students as citizens of India and in building a better society. He said that the government presents awards to teachers who contribute outstanding services to the education department. He stated that the responsibility of teachers would grow once they were given the award. He requested the teachers to render better-quality teaching.

Jogu Ramanna said that the government conducted online classes to continue the learning process for students at the time of the lockdown. He stated that steps were taken for the smooth conduct of physical classes. He said that the birthday of former President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishna is observed as Teachers’ Day. He congratulated the teachers who were chosen as the best teachers.

Collector Sikta Patnaik, who was also present at the event, said that the schools were resumed in a festive mood after a hiatus of 16 months caused by Covid-19 lockdown. She wanted teachers to help improve the standards of education. She said that elaborate measures were taken to prevent the spread of the Covid-19.

Additional Collector Rizwan Shaik Basha, District Educational Officer A Ravinder Reddy, agriculture market committee chairman Prahlad, district libraries corporation chairman Rauthu Manohar and many others were present.
