Adilabad: An outsourced assistant engineer working with the Housing department was arrested allegedly while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a beneficiary of the Indiramma housing scheme for an official favour at Narnoor mandal centre on Tuesday.
Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) DSP Madhu said the engineer Durgam Srikanth was caught red-handed while collecting the bribe from the applicant to sanction the bills of a house sanctioned for the applicant under the Indiramma housing scheme.
The applicant then approached the ACB when the engineer demanded Rs 20,000 to do the official favour. The sleuths laid a trap and apprehended Srikanth.
