Hyderabad: Team India’s chances of making it to the semifinal of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup took a severe beating after suffering back-to-back losses to Pakistan and New Zealand.

The 10-wicket loss to arch-rivals Pakistan in the opener and an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand pushed the Virat Kohli’s men, who entered the tournament as favourites, to the brink and now they face first-round exit.

However, India are still in with a chance, provided they get a few results in their favour. With already three wins in their pocket, Pakistan are at the top of the table and they will take on minnows Scotland and Namibia. A win will ensure them into the semis and with in-form Babar Azam-led side expected to go past these minnows with ease, they are assured of a top finish in the table and a place in semifinals.

For the second spot from Group II, New Zealand, Afghanistan and India, all three are in contention. With India taking on Afghanistan in what looks to be another keen contest on Wednesday, here is how India can qualify for the knockouts.
