HPS student to present Global Youth Report at COP26

Hyderabad: As the world leaders gather to find a solution for climate change, a 16-year-old boy from Hyderabad is gearing up to present the Global Youth Report at the United Nations Climate Change conference — COP26 Climate Summit.

Pavan Trishu Vijay Kumar has received official certification to present the #Decarbonize: Global Youth Manifesto and is travelling with Annapurna, the Project Coordinator, to attend the summit taking place at Glasgow, Scotland.

Pavan will be presenting his work in the “Blue-Zone” at the event which is restricted to official conference delegates including world leaders, and official representatives from multinational NGOs and industry, a press release said.

The #Decarbonize: Global Youth Manifesto is the world’s largest synthesis of education and action focussed on climate change by children under the age of eighteen.

Pavan is one of the world’s six Continental Lead students and they will be meeting with global leaders, heads of multinational corporations, visiting local schools, and hosting a live and interactive video series, a press release said.

In India, the team of students — comprising  Pavan, Ankith, Ashritha, Harshita, Shiv, Praseeth, Ankitha, Varsha, Ishaan and Anirudh led by their teacher Usha Sudhir — have worked on the project by doing research, writing blogs, interacting with students of different countries.

The project saw the participation of schools across the country including Little Angels High School, Gwalior, Suncity School, Gurugram, KLE School, Gokak along with Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet came forward to participate in the Art section. The selected works of Art will be displayed at the COP26.
