The announcement is confirmed – Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan will star in the Hindi remake of ‘Vikram Vedha’. The Tamil film starring Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan will be remade by husband-wife duo Pushkar and Gayathri, the makers of the original movie.
Announcing the news, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handles and wrote: “HRITHIK – SAIF IN ‘VIKRAM VEDHA’ REMAKE… #HrithikRoshan and #SaifAliKhan will star in the #Hindi remake of #Tamil film #VikramVedha… Pushkar-Gayathri – the director duo of the original film – will direct the #Hindi version too… 30 Sept 2022 release(sic).”
The Hindi remake of ‘Vikram Vedha’ will mark the Bollywood debut of filmmaker duo Pushkar and Gayathri, in both direction and writing. The film is expected to hit screens on September 30 next year.
In the Tamil original, released in 2017, actor Madhavan was cast as the police inspector Vikram while Vijay played Vedha, a gangster and a drug smuggler. The story revolves around how Vedha confuses Vikram with intriguing stories of his life. The question of whether what Vedha did was right or wrong leaves the inspector in a tight spot.
However, the casting of actors in the roles of Vikram and Vedha in the Hindi remake is yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Hrithik has started shooting for ‘Fighter’. The film helmed by Siddharth Anand, will see Hrithik paired with Deepika Padukone for the first time.
Saif is prepping for ‘Adipurush’, in which he plays Ravan. He will also be seen in ‘Bhoot Police’ where he will be seen playing the role of a ghostbuster.a
