Adilabad: A large number of BRS activists and leaders from different parts of erstwhile Adilabad district turned up for BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s tour to Adilabad on Tuesday.
Hundreds of activists from mandal centres and towns across Mancherial, Nirmal, Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Adilabad districts reached the agriculture market yard where Rao interacted with cotton and soy farmers. They came to the district headquarters by different modes of transport despite cold weather.
BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar, who took part in the event, said the Congress and BJP were harassing farmers by imposing restrictions on procurement of cotton and soy. He criticised the introduction of the Android-based Kapas Kisan app for cotton purchase.
He slammed the Congress for failing to protest against the policies of the Cotton Corporation of India in New Delhi. He recalled that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had staged a protest in the national capital in 2018 when paddy was not procured. He faulted the Congress for celebrating Prajapalana while farmers continued to face many problems.
