Huppuguda railway station redevelopment work in brisk pace

The redevelopment of Huppuguda railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is progressing rapidly and is scheduled for completion by December 2025. With a Rs 26.81 crore investment, the project aims to upgrade infrastructure and enhance passenger facilities.

Hyderabad: The works at Huppuguda railway station, which is being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) is going on at a brisk pace with aim to have it completed by December 2025.

The station under the Hyderabad Division of the South Central Railway is being redeveloped at an approximate cost of Rs 26.81 crore. Huppuguda station is a Suburban Grade-3 station located in southern part of Hyderabad in Falaknuma – Kacheguda section.

According to the railway officials, the work on waiting hall improvements, FoB girders launching is completed and work on the parking sheds compound wall is nearing completion. The works on the lifts and escalators sheeting was in progress.

The average footfall at this station is 5,000 passengers per day and the commuters mainly travel daily from here to different parts of the city in suburban trains especially towards west part of the city like Hitec City, Lingampalli etc for employment, business. Around 50 trains are dealt at this station per day including suburban trains.

With a vision to provide world-class facilities to the passengers, Indian Railways has taken up a massive upgradation of railway stations and under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 40 railway stations across Telangana are being redeveloped with an estimated cost of Rs 2,750 crores. Recently, three Amrit stations i.e., Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar, in Telangana were inaugurated.

* Provision of 2 passenger lifts and 2 escalators

* Improvements to platform surface

* Provision of additional cover over platform

* Interior renovations of concourse & waiting halls

* Provision of toilets for Divyangjan

* New signage boards and new furniture etc.
