Karimnagar: Collector and District Election Officer RV Karnan informed that the by-election for Huzurabad Assembly constituency was held in a peaceful, transparent and free and fair manner.
Collector along with general observer Muthu Krishnan Shankar Narayana conducted scrutiny in the presence of contesting candidates and their representatives in SRR College counting centre on Sunday.
He explained to the candidates about the polling process and voting percentage. He also explained about mock polling, PO diary, ASD voters, ballot units, control units, VVPATs, postal ballots, and service votes.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector thanked political parties and candidates for extending support to polling staff to conduct the election perfectly. Counting would be held in SRR College on November 2, he informed.
Additional Collector GV Shyamprasad Lal, returning officer Ch Ravinder Reddy, candidate and their representatives participated in the programme.
