Hyderabad: 11-year-old girl escapes kidnapping, attempted assault in Mirchowk
An 11-year-old government school student escaped a kidnap and assault attempt by an auto driver in Hyderabad’s Mirchowk. She jumped from the moving auto, sought help, and locals caught the accused, who is now in police custody
Hyderabad: An 11-year-old girl studying in a government school narrowly escaped a kidnapping and attempted sexual assault by an auto driver in Mirchowk on Tuesday evening.
As per available information, the suspect, Syed Shabbir, allegedly lured the girl by falsely claiming her father had asked him to take her home. After picking up another boy and dropping him off, Shabbir tried to sexually assault the girl inside the auto while heading towards Malakpet.
Showing remarkable bravery, the girl escaped by jumping from the moving auto and ran for help. Locals intervened, nabbed the suspect, and handed him over to the police.
The girl is safe, and the perpetrator is in police custody. Mirchowk police are investigating.
