Hyderabad: The three-day Hyderabad City Police’s Annual Sports and Games Meet – 2021 concluded at the Shiv Lal Police Stadium at Goshamahal here on Friday.
Sports events like cricket, football, volleyball, handball, basketball, hockey, athletics for men and women were organised, wherein about 1,500 staff and officers of Hyderabad City Police from all wings participated. Sports Minister Srinivas Goud, who was the chief guest, said the current police force was more active than it was prior to 2014.
“Now, the police not only control law and order but also serve the society. The She Team is very special to women. After the formation of the State, the government has encouraged the police department by providing amenities at police stations and allotting new vehicles to name a few of the various initiatives,” he said, adding that a better stadium would be provided for the Annual Police Sports for five days next year.
Principal Secretary (Home) Ravi Gupta, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and Olympian Gagan Narang also spoke.
