Hyderabad: 17-year-old boy beaten to death in Old City
A 17-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by unidentified assailants in Hyderabad's Kalapather area after being lured out by a phone call. Police registered a murder case, launched an investigation, and are examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects
Hyderabad: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by a rowdy sheeter and two of his associates at Kalapather in the city on Saturday night.
The victim, Faiz Mohammed, an intermediate first-year student and a resident of Biryani Shah Tekri in Kalapather, was sitting with his friends when he spotted Abrar, against whom a rowdy sheet is maintained at Balapur, along with his associates Ashwaq and Farhan, moving around in the neighbourhood. Faiz reportedly questioned their presence.
According to Kalapather Inspector Khaleel Pasha, Abrar initially threatened Faiz for questioning him and left the place. However, Faiz followed Abrar and his associates for reasons yet to be ascertained. The trio allegedly attacked him with a knife, causing injuries to his head, which led to his death.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination. A murder case was registered, and an investigation was underway.
Sources said Abrar, along with his associates, had consumed liquor at a friend’s house in Shahalibanda before coming to Biryani Shah Tekri in Kalapather to meet some friends.
The police are reported to have apprehended all three suspects while they were allegedly attempting to flee the city after the incident.
