Hyderabad: 195 liquor bottles seized in Lalithabagh, woman among 3 held

Hyderabad police raided a house in Lalithabagh and seized 195 liquor bottles being sold illegally. Three people, including repeat offender Shobha Rani, were arrested. The house was reportedly used as a late-night drinking spot for customers

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police raided a house at Lalithabagh in Old City and seized 195 bottles of liquor stored illegally. The police arrested three people, including a woman, who were stocking and selling liquor illegally.

The arrested are N Shobha Rani, Deepak Kumar and Nitish Kumar. According to the police, Shobha Rani is involved in 33 cases and PD Act was also invoked against her a few years ago.


“Shobha Rani procured liquor from various liquor outlets and sold it at a premium to customers at her house,” said the Chatrinaka police.

Sources said that Shobha Rani had made arrangements for customers to sit inside her house and consume liquor till late night.

On a tip-off, the Commissioner’s Task Force (south) team raided the house and seized the liquor. The trio was also arrested.
