Hyderabad: A 20-year-old migrant worker from Bihar allegedly died by suicide in Keshampet after falling into financial distress linked to online gaming.
As per reports, the youth identified as Guddu Kumar Yadav, a native of Berkiya village in Champaran district, had migrated to Keshampet about two months ago for work and was working as a daily wage labourer.
Over time, he reportedly became addicted to online gaming and lost money, leading to severe financial stress. Family members had advised him to stop, but he did not heed their warnings.
On January 7, he allegedly hanged himself from a tree on the outskirts of Keshampet using a towel.
The decomposed body was found on Sunday, four days later, after local shepherds noticed a foul smell and alerted the police.
The Keshampet police are investigating.
