Hyderabad: BRONCHUS-2021, the two-day international conference and live workshop, focussing on best practices in interventional pulmonology from basics to the most advanced diagnostics and therapeutics, was organised by Yashoda Hospitals on November 27 and 28. Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji was the chief guest for the event.
Interventional Pulmonology is a state-of-the-art treatment in pulmonary medicine that treats lung diseases in the smallest incision with the help of an endoscopy device. Having undergone technological advancement in the last two decades, this procedure raises new hopes for those suffering from diseases such as acute asthma, lung cancer, tuberculosis and new viral / microbial infections, lung tissue damage and lung disease.
Dr. G. S. Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said that Yashoda Hospitals is credited with treating more patients in the country through the Bronchial Thermoplasty procedure. He added that Bronchial Thermoplasty and Interventional Bronchoscopic Thermal Vapor Absolution – (VVA) can be used for the treatment of many lung diseases, from chronic plague asthma to the current coronavirus.
Dr. Pawan Gorukanti, Director, Yashoda Hospitals, lauded the efforts made by doctors during the pandemic and added that the pulmonologists risked their lives to heal the patients during the first and second wave of the coronavirus in the country.
The two-day global conference discussed the most advanced medical practices from the grassroots level. Dr. Harikishan, Senior Interventional Pulmonologist explained that the conference focussed on diagnosis as well as treatment methods.
Leading physicians around the world, such as Dr Gustavo Kumbo Nacheli (USA), Dr. Michela Bezzi (Italy), Dr. Munawwar (UK), Dr. Pallav Shah (UK), Dr. Saraborn (Bangladesh), Dr. Kyle Hogarth (USA), Dr. Michael Pritchet (USA) attended the conference.
