Hyderabad: 22 detained after cockfight, gambling raid at poultry farm
Twenty-two persons were detained after the Future City SOT and Adibatla police raided a poultry farm at Manneguda in Ranga Reddy district over alleged cockfights and gambling. Police seized 31 roosters and Rs 3 lakh in cash from the spot.
Hyderabad: Twenty-two persons were detained after the Future City, Special Operations Team (SOT) and Adibatla police raided a poultry farm at Manneguda in Ranga Reddy district on Saturday evening, following information that cockfights and gambling were being organised there.
Acting on information, the team conducted a raid at the Rajeshwar Reddy poultry farm.
On noticing the police, some persons allegedly fled the spot. The 22 persons who were detained for organising cockfights and gambling, police said.
The police seized 31 roosters and Rs.3 lakh in cash from the spot.
A case was registered by the Adibatla police and further investigation is on.
