Hyderabad: 22-year-old woman dies by suicide over alleged dowry harassment in Alwal
A 22-year-old homemaker died by suicide at her Alwal residence, allegedly due to dowry harassment. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws of continuous abuse. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Hyderabad: A 22-year-old woman died by suicide allegedly due to dowry harassment at her house in Alwal on Friday night.
K Sangita, a homemaker, was married for two years and was staying with her husband Ramesh and in-laws.
Police said Sangita’s family accused her husband, Ramesh, and in-laws of subjecting her to continuous harassment for additional dowry. Upset by the alleged abuse, she allegedly ended her life by hanging in the bedroom.
The Alwal police are investigating.
