Hyderabad: A 50-year-old man was beaten to death by his younger brother, allegedly following a dispute over a land transaction at Jilledu Choudarigudem in Ranga Reddy district on Monday late evening.
The victim, identified as Venkataiah, a resident of Peerzapur in Choudarigudem, had earlier sold a piece of agricultural land to his younger brother Ramulu. While part of the agreed-upon amount was paid, Ramulu allegedly failed to clear the remaining balance.
Police said, frustrated over the pending payment, Venkataiah had proceeded to sell the land to others.
On Monday, Venkataiah visited the agricultural land after land measurements were carried out. During which an argument broke out when Ramulu confronted him.
In an intoxicated state, Ramulu allegedly attacked his elder brother with repeated punches. Venkataiah collapsed and died on the spot.
