Hyderabad: The dream of owning a brand new home for 574 families belonging to economically weaker sections is all set to be fulfilled this month.
On December 17, a total of 310 houses in Banda Maisamma Nagar and 264 houses in CC Nagar built under the State government’s Double Bed Room Housing scheme are scheduled for inauguration. The keys will be handed over to the beneficiaries on the same day.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao will inaugurate the houses in the presence of Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. Both these 2BHK housing colonies are located in Bansilalpet, Sanath Nagar constituency.
Srinivas Yadav in a press release said the allocation of houses to beneficiaries has been done in a transparent manner. “In order to ensure the poor live with dignity, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao formulated the housing scheme,” he said.
The GHMC officials said the housing units in Banda Maisamma Nagar were built in a S+5 pattern with an estimated cost of Rs 26.35 crore. This housing colony spread over 1.5 acre is equipped with lifts and the cost of each dwelling unit was Rs 8.5 lakh.
Meanwhile, with an estimated cost of Rs 19.22 crore, 264 houses were constructed in CC Nagar in a G+3 pattern spread over 3 acres. The construction cost of each DU in this colony is Rs 7.75 lakh.
Electricity, illumination, drinking water supply, CC Roads, sewerage connection and sumps to store drinking water were some of the amenities in these colonies.
