Hyderabad: 9-year-old boy drowns after falling into water sump at Pahadishareef

A nine-year-old boy, Ghouse Pasha, drowned after accidentally falling into a rainwater-filled sump at an under-construction site in Pahadishareef. The boy had gone to play with friends. Police registered a case and started an investigation

Hyderabad: A nine-year-old boy died after falling into a water sump filled with rainwater at an under-construction site at Pahadishareef on Wednesday evening.

According to the police, Ghouse Pasha, a resident of Wadi-e-Mustafa, along with his three friends, went to an open boundary at Shaheennagar road. After playing for some time, he, along with his friend, sat near a water sump when he slipped and fell in it.

“The sump is nearly 10 feet deep and filled to brim with rainwater. The boy drowned in the sump and died. The body was later retrieved,” said Pahadishareef police.

A case is registered. The police are investigating.
