Hyderabad: ACB arrests Narsingi Town Planning Officer for Rs 10 lakh bribery

ACB arrested Mani Harika, Town Planning Officer at Narsingi Municipal Office, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh for LRS approvals. Officials recovered Rs 4 lakh during the sting operation, and she was remanded in judicial custody

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Mani Harika, the Town Planning Officer at Narsingi Municipal Officer, on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe on Tuesday.

ACB officials said Mani Harika allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant as a reward for signing the LRS documents.

It is learnt that the complaint had already given a part of the bribe amount earlier. She was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh in her office.

The bribe was recovered from her and she was arrested and produced before the ACB for remanding in judicial custody.
