Hyderabad: A city based advocate, filed a complaint at Saidabad police station against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, TTD Chairman, Board members and officials for allowing the alleged use of low quality ghee mixed with animal fat in sacred Tirupati laddu prasadam.
In his complaint, K Karuna Sagar, a practising High Court advocate stated that the laddu prasadam offering has been an integral part of the faith of Hindus for 300 years and symbolizes divine blessing. “I was shocked to see the lab test report from NDDB CALF Ltd confirming the use of ghee with animal fat in preparation of the world famous Tirupati Laddu Prasadam,” he stated.
He requested the police to investigate the matter and take action against former Jagan Mohan Reddy and others involved as such a practice hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
