Hyderabad: AIMIM corporators, Musi riverfront project oustees taken into preventive custody

Following a protest call, scores of people from residential areas of Asad Baba Nagar, Kishan Bagh and Bahadurpura descended at the Tahsildar Bahadurpura office on Monday.

Hyderabad: A few oustess of Musi River Development Project along with four corporators belonging to the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) were taken into preventive custody on Monday when they staged a protest against the proposed project on Musi.

Following a protest call, scores of people from residential areas of Asad Baba Nagar, Kishan Bagh and Bahadurpura descended at the Tahsildar Bahadurpura office on Monday.


A few days ago, the local revenue authorities had visited the localities inhabited by the working class and marked the houses that are reportedly located in the buffer zone of the Musi River few days ago.

Since then protest are being organized daily by the local people at various places demanding the officials review their plans.

On Monday, four corporators Hussaini Pasha (Kishanbagh), Mohd Khader (Ramnaspura), Mohd Nawaz (Suleimannagar) and Syed Saleem (Doodh Bowli) came to the Tahsildar office and staged a demonstration.

The police who were deployed in large number prevented people from gaining entry into the Tahsildar office. People raised slogans against Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy and other officials.

The police physically lifted the four corporators along with a few oustees and shifted them into police vehicles. They were shifted to Falaknuma police station where they were detained as a preventive measure.
