Hyderabad: Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) Hitec-City on Wednesday announced the launch of a hypertension clinic, which will raise awareness about the connection between hypertension and chronic renal disease in addition to cardiology.
The idea behind the Hypertension Clinic is to screen those high-risk populations for hypertension, diagnose them early, and treat them appropriately. “We intend to educate people that one of the dangers of having uncontrolled hypertension is kidney damage, which most people are not aware of,” said Dr. Deepak Ragoori, Senior Urologist and Facility Director, AINU, Hitec-City.
The hypertension clinic will focus on early diagnosis and preventing the complications associated with blood pressure. “The best way to lower blood pressure is to include physical activity of 30 to 45 minutes per day walk, maintaining a healthy weight, quit smoking, managing stress, low salt intake, following a healthy diet, and taking medication regularly,” Dr. K Kranthi Kumar, senior Nephrologist, AINU, Hitec-City.
