Hyderabad: Annapurna Rs 5 per meal centres renamed as Indiramma canteens
GHMC standing committee approves proposal of revamping the Rs 5-a-meal scheme; also okays resolutions including renaming of Kondapur-Gachibowli flyover as PJR flyover, renewal of contract of unified traffic signal control system
Hyderabad: Annapurna Rs 5 meal centres in the GHMC area, which were supported effectively by the previous BRS government, are now renamed as Indiramma Canteens.
The GHMC Standing Committee chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijay Lakshmi approved the proposal of revamping the Rs 5-a-meal scheme, in a meeting held on Thursday.
The other resolutions approved by the Standing Committee include termination of existing LED street lights implementation project contract with EESL, renaming of Kondapur-Gachibowli flyover as PJR flyover, renewal of contract of unified traffic signal control system and extending it up to September 19, green beautification underneath the flyover from Somajiguda circle to Nagarjuna Circle, and construction of STPs at various 2BHK housing projects.
Alienation of 6.20 acres of government land at Nacharam to set up National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and fixing of licence fee to Yacht Club for setting up of kayaking and sailing facility at Durgam Cheruvu were also approved.
