Hyderabad: The Apollo Hospitals management has lodged a complaint against Kaseya Limited, an American software company for allegedly updating the systems without prior intimidation, which led to the crashing of the hospital group’s systems.

Sources said Kaseya Limited, which develops software for managing networks, systems and information technology infrastructure, as part of its agreement with Apollo Hospitals handles the latter’s system network.

Recently, without informing the hospital’s systems wing, the software firm’s anti-virus team had updated the software, which subsequently resulted in a system crash and affected the hospital’s functions, management and cyber security.

However, the hospital data has not been corrupted, sources said. The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police is investigating.
