Hyderabad: Army’s Southern Command visits Bison Division

Hyderabad: Lieutenant General JS Nain, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command met the Governor Dr (Smt) Tamilisai Soundararajan along with Major General RK Singh, GOC, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area on Friday. The Governor praised the contributions of the Indian Army in nation building, even during Covid-19 pandemic.

The Army Commander had also visited Bison Division on Thursday where he was briefed by Major General Prit Pal Singh, General Officer Commanding, Bison Division on varied aspects including operational readiness, security situation and administration. He also visited Batticaloa Brigade, Mehdipatnam Garrison and Golconda Battalion (The Mighty Third) and was briefed by respective Commanders. He appreciated the measures implemented by the formation to remain abreast and prepared on all spectrum operations.


On Friday, he visited Headquarters, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area and was briefed by Major General RK Singh on the training and preparedness of operational, administrative and disaster relief tasks in the Covid environment. The Army Commander also did an inspection of Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) and was briefed by Lieutenant General TSA Narayanan about the various projects being undertaken and new technical innovations.

Lieutenant General JS Nain appreciated all ranks of Secunderabad and Hyderabad Military Station for their commitment and dedicated efforts towards maintaining the highest standards of operational readiness, morale and motivation.
