Hyderabad: Attapur Police arrest automobile thief, recover Hyundai i20 and laptop

Attapur Police arrested automobile thief Syed Mazher alias Takla and recovered a Hyundai i20 Asta car and laptop from his possession. Police said the accused, a habitual offender, stole the vehicle after taking keys kept near a valet counter.

Hyderabad: The Attapur Police on Wednesday arrested an automobile thief and recovered a Hyundai i20 Asta car and a laptop from his possession.

The arrested person, Syed Mazher alias Takla (30), a resident of Upparpally, Rajendra Nagar, Ranga Reddy district, had earlier been involved in several property and bodily offence cases, police said.

According to the police, on August 22 at around 11.30 pm, the suspect allegedly noticed that vehicle keys were being kept near the valet counter and took advantage of the staff’s busy schedule. He allegedly stole two keys, identified the Hyundai i20 using the key signal and drove away with the vehicle.

Police said the suspect was a habitual offender and had recently been released on bail but continued his criminal activities. Further investigation is underway.
