Hyderabad: Nearly five months after an accident in which a woman was killed at Gajularamaram in Quthbullapur, an auto-rickshaw driver was arrested on Tuesday.

Officials said wrong side driving led to the mishap on May 29, after which a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was booked.

The driver, Shaik Zaheer (22) from Suraram colony, allegedly drove his auto-rickshaw rashly and hit a motorcycle, resulting in grievous injuries to Shaik Rizwan (21), and in the death of his mother Nazima Begum (40), both residents of Roda mistry Nagar.

The Jeedimetla police booked a case and subsequently arrested Shaik Zaheer. He was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
