Hyderabad: Auto driver returns bag with 12 tolas of gold, cash

An autorickshaw driver returned a handbag containing 12 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 10,000 in cash after a woman left it in his vehicle. A cab driver helped her approach Tolichowki police, who contacted the autorickshaw driver.

Hyderabad: An auto-rickshaw driver returned a handbag containing 12 tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 10,000 in cash to a woman at the Tolichowki police station.

According to the police, Rubiya, wife of Rehan and a resident of Tolichowki, had boarded a auto taxi near Ice Magic on Tolichowki Main Road and got down near Al-Saba Hotel. She later realised that she had left her handbag containing the gold ornaments and cash in the vehicle.

Distressed over the loss, she was noticed by a cab driver, Jaffer Khan, who took her to the Tolichowki police station and helped her seek police assistance.

Acting swiftly, the crime team contacted the driver and informed him about the missing handbag. The driver immediately returned to the police station with the bag.

Police verified the contents and found the gold ornaments and cash intact before handing the handbag back to Rubiya.

The Tolichowki police appreciated the driver for his honesty and Jaffer Khan for promptly assisting the woman and bringing her to the police station.
