Hyderabad: Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin on Thursday urged minority youth to pursue higher education, acquire new skills and maintain discipline to build successful careers and take advantage of emerging employment opportunities globally.
The Minister was speaking at an event organised by the Minorities Welfare Department at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Hyderabad, where CM Overseas Scholarship cheques, mopeds, sewing machines and other welfare benefits were distributed to beneficiaries. “It is heartening to see so many young people coming forward to avail themselves of government welfare schemes. These opportunities should be used effectively to build a better future,” Azharuddin said.
The Minister distributed CM Overseas Scholarship cheques, mopeds, sewing machines under the Indiramma Mahila Shakti scheme, cheques under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana and other benefits to eligible beneficiaries in the presence of senior officials and public representatives.
Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the welfare schemes were aimed at supporting genuine beneficiaries from the minority communities. He highlighted several initiatives undertaken for minority welfare, including financial support for Haj pilgrims and ex-gratia assistance to families affected by the Madina accident. He said minority achievers such as Mohammed Siraj and Nikhat Zareen had been appointed to Group-I services and noted that hundreds of minority students had benefited from the CM Overseas Scholarship programme.
