Hyderabad-based BMJRFT offers 10L dialysis to kidney patients

Hyderabad: The city-based Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Relief Foundation Trust (BMJRFT) has achieved a unique milestone of offering 10 lakh dialysis sessions at affordable cost to needy patients with chronic kidney ailments in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. The milestone of 10 lakh dialysis sessions for kidney patients was achieved on October 14, chairman, BMJRFT, PC Parakh on Monday said.
Launched in 2009, the Mahavir Jain Trust has 189 dialysis machines and is offering 500 dialysis sessions on a daily basis from 8 different locations at 5 associate hospitals in Hyderabad and Jangaon. Over the years, through their affordable dialysis sessions, the Trust members said that they had managed to reduce the burden on the patients by Rs. 125 crore. The Trust is offering each session of dialysis at a cost of Rs 300 while at corporate hospitals it costs anywhere between Rs 1200 and Rs 3,000.
The Trust is operating a special dialysis wing at the King Koti Government hospital, which was developed by it with a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore while Mahavir Hospitals, Masab Tank, the Trust has its largest facility with 61 dialysis machines.
To celebrate the occasion of completing 10 lakh dialysis sessions, the Trust is holding a special function on Saturday, November 13, which will be attended by IT Minister KT Rama Rao.
