Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based health tech startup GenepoweRx that generates genetic reports based on an individual genetic makeup and suggests the medical solutions has announced fund raise. In a release on Wednesday, the startup informed that it has raised $500,000 (approximately Rs 3.79 crore) from Dr Vinayendra Tulla, serial entrepreneur and angel investor.
They also have research collaborations with the National Institutes of Health, American College of Medical Genomics and Genetics, ClinVar, CPIC, and others. The startup uses artificial intelligence and deep technology to generate accurate genome reports.
GenepoweRx combines genomics with medical data and lifestyle factors to provide comprehensive and personalized care to patients by utilizing nextgen sequencing. To make the genetic data stronger, they have created a software platform incorporating information from multiple reputed databases such as NCBI, MSK and PharmaGKB. They devise a clinically actionable report for the patients, comprising disease risk stratification, pharmacogenomic report, nutrigenomics, fitness, and immunity panel. They have patented the process and the database, which involves complex genomic data annotated with simple clinical recommendations, the release said.
Dr Kalyan Uppaluri, founder GenepoweRx said, “The biotechnology will give the power into the hands of the patients. The genetic report will help them in making informed choices around their health.
Changing the lifestyle can drastically cut down on future medical bills and stress often associated with ill health.”
