Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Kalories Nutra Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the company behind kalories (Fun)ctional Dark Chocolates, has appointed Bollywood actor, fitness icon and Ironman athlete Milind Soman as the face of the brand.
The association brings together Soman’s credentials in fitness, endurance and active living with kalories’ vision of making wellness more enjoyable, accessible and relevant to modern consumers through its “(Fun)ctional wellness” philosophy.
Known for his career in Bollywood and influence as a fitness icon, Soman has become associated with endurance, discipline and an active lifestyle. His association with kalories will particularly support the brand’s Intimacy Chocolate portfolio and its efforts to make conversations around intimate wellness more contemporary and approachable.
Kalories is building a category of (Fun)ctional Dark Chocolates that combines dark chocolate with selected ingredients and nutrition-led formulations designed around contemporary lifestyle needs. Its portfolio spans intimate wellness, sports nutrition, women’s wellness and daily vitamins, with the brand seeking to present functional nutrition in formats consumers can enjoy.
As part of its expanding portfolio, kalories is also preparing to introduce Cysterly, a women’s wellness chocolate developed around nutritional needs and lifestyle concerns associated with PCOS/PCOD and menstrual discomfort, including period cramps. The product is positioned as a convenient chocolate-based wellness format and aims to encourage more open conversations around menstrual and hormonal health.
The partnership with Soman comes as kalories looks to expand its retail footprint to more than 5,000 partner outlets across India and targets revenue of Rs 15 crore over the next 18 months. The company is also strengthening its presence across retail, pharmacies, e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms.
Ravikanth Palapati and Dr Rakesh Gandla, co-founders of Kalories Nutra Solutions, said Soman’s values of discipline, endurance and fitness strongly align with the brand’s philosophy and that the partnership would help take its (Fun)ctional chocolate category to a wider Indian audience.
Kalories said it aims to build an Indian innovation-led (Fun)ctional wellness brand with global aspirations, spanning sports, energy, intimate wellness, women’s wellness and daily nutrition.
