Hyderabad: City-based NGO Civic Watch has urged City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar to initiate tough action against those indulging in illegal activities during the lockdown. Mohd Kaleem, co-convenor of the group, said the police had raided a few places during the lockdown and caught several persons who were organising gambling. The police registered cases against the arrested persons in Bahadurpura, Falaknuma and other police stations.
“After registering the cases, the police are letting off the persons on station bail or issuing 41 CrPC notice in view of Covid19. We urge the police to seal the premises where the gambling is organised so that the activity is not resumed, otherwise the organisers will continue with their illegal activities causing domestic disharmony in families,” Kaleem said.
